About the Project
This project comprises the comprehensive redevelopment of the Bab Al-Azab area, transforming it into a vibrant cultural and creative destination. The development will accommodate a diverse mix of uses, including innovative centers, archaeology and heritage facilities, creative studios, historic mosques, artisanal workshops, theatre and promotion venues, creative hubs and co-working spaces, as well as specialized educational facilities for the arts. In addition, the project will provide a range of supporting services for visitors and users, such as food courts, markets, and small-scale retail outlets.
An integrated consortium of local and international artists, architects, engineers, and consultants has been appointed to deliver the project. The consortium is responsible for preparing the full suite of development and impact studies at both the master planning and detailed design stages. These studies include, but are not limited to, the business model and capital expenditure (CAPEX), heritage impact assessment, traffic impact assessment, and market studies, ensuring that the project is economically viable, culturally sensitive, and technically sound.
